Making Paleontology Accessible

We create videos to teach everyone about dinosaurs and prehistory using familiar (but wrong) dinosaur toys as a starting point.

  • Dinosaurs

    Their fossils, anatomy, how they lived, and their environment! We break down research from scientists to try and explain what these once living, fascinating animals were. Along the way, we use animation to demonstrate how the toys made to represent them were wrong.

  • Science

    How it's used to find answers, the tools and techniques of fossil work, and why & how the conclusions of scientists change over time. We strive to teach as much about the practice of it as we do the prehistoric animals it looks at.

  • Education

    We want to provide the knowledge of centuries of researchers, museums, and classrooms to everyone! All of our videos are available for free on YouTube for anyone with a sincere and passionate desire to learn.

We're Liz & Steven

We started Your Dinosaurs Are Wrong in 2013 as a fun work experiment, and it became a passion project. Having done filmmaking and science communication for over ten years now, we believe that scientific concepts can be explained best by meeting the audience where they are at. In the case of YDAW, that means using the dinosaur toys they played with as kids.

Ourselves

All of our products are designed by us, often based on artwork from the show's episodes. We make almost all of it ourselves, using a small setup of various equipment at home.

All of the proceeds from sales and donations go back into producing new episodes of the show. This allows us to keep creating, while relying on minimal ads & sponsorships that distract from the content we share.
